Training in Psychometric Testing:

During the 4+2 internship you are required to develop competence in a range of psychometric test tools.  We provide training either via small group supervision or professional development workshops in the following tests (iPad version):

·         Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC-V)

·         Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale – Third Edition (WAIS-III)

·         Wechsler Memory Scale – Third Edition (WMS-III)

Testing supervision groups typically run on the first Saturday of each month from February to October.  Due to the practical nature of these groups, they are only offered face-to-face at our Sydney office.

Each 4-hour group is limited to a maximum of 4 participants to allow sufficient time for each participant to practice test administration.  Participants can also arrange to use the test tools for simulated assessments, which they can record for their supervisor to observe and assess competency.  Each test needs to be proficiently administered twice in order to meet the Board’s competency requirements.

Each 4-hour session will cover the following:

·         Overview and purpose of the test

·         Supervisor will demonstrate administration of the core subtests

·         Scoring and interpretation

·         Report writing

·         Participants practice test administration

·         Guidelines for simulated assessments
